Anne and Zach got married on Sunday, Labor Day 2012. Much was made during their wedding service about the fact that they chose that day of all days to get married. The rabbi and cantor spoke of how Anne and Zach were so similar to those people long ago who fought for a holiday to recognize American workers. They said Anne and Zach fight on the side of good every day. It’s so true. I have seen it multiple times in just the short time since I met them six months ago. Allow me to share how I know this. At our first meeting we were sitting at a Starbucks and there was a gentleman in the store sitting by the window. He was obviously down on his luck but Anne and Zach offered to purchase him a sandwich and a cup of coffee, no judgement, no hesitation, no questions asked. It just melted my heart. When Anne returned from her bachlorette party in Nashville, TN I learned that she had rescued a stray dog and brought her home to Washington, DC where she could find it a home. And just 10 minutes before Zach was to become a husband he was talking to me about adopting one of the many cats they had rescued which were now living in their home waiting for good parents to come and get them. These two people are truly amazing and I am so glad they found each other. I can see it in the way they look at one another that they have found true love and that they are now married to their best friend. Congratulations Anne and Zach, it has truly been an honor to be your photographer and it is a pleasure to be your friend.
